Working in 3D has allowed me to explore aspects of our world as if I were a psychologist with a jig saw and wood glue. Universal symbols, like those we all dream about, often find their way into my pieces as found objects. When collecting and arranging these objects, I am heavily influenced by the explorations of Carl Jung and, to a slight degree, his contemporary Sigmund Freud. Themes may come into my work through dreams or in waking life, and are examined the same way one would analyze a dream. The box is a powerful, recurring metaphor. It is rich in symbolism that spans, for women in particular, from cradle to grave.
