I discovered painting out of a need to replace my beloved yet hazardous and extremely messy process of creating massive works in charcoal. Though I have not abandoned charcoal altogether, the act of painting has simply served as another mode of communication. I have found it to be a lot like a Latin-based language full of filigree and color. I paint for the same reasons I draw. I need it.
